About the Role

We’re looking for Freelance Indigenous Language Teachers to deliver engaging online lessons to both kids and adults.

This is a remote, hourly-paid position — perfect for educators who value flexibility and cultural impact.

You’ll guide students through live, interactive classes that combine practical language skills with authentic cultural experiences — songs, proverbs, folktales, and more.

What You’ll Do
  • Teach live lessons (1:1 or group) via Zoom or Google Meet

  • Prepare and adapt engaging lesson plans and learning materials

  • Incorporate cultural elements such as stories, etiquette, and expressions

  • Track student progress and provide supportive feedback

  • Collaborate with our team on training and curriculum improvement

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Languages, Linguistics, or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (foreign or second language teaching preferred)

  • Experience with lesson planning, student assessment, and curriculum development

  • C2-level or proficient English speaker

  • Proficiency in at least one Nigerian Indigenous Language (Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Edo/Bini, or Pidgin English)

Certifications (preferred)

  • Foreign Language Teaching Certificate (TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent)

Technical & Equipment Needs

To teach effectively, you’ll need:

  • A laptop or desktop computer

  • A webcam and clear audio (headset or microphone)

  • Stable, high-speed internet connection
